What’s the difference Between IMPS and UPI?
UPI and IMPS may sound confusing at first, but they’re simply ways of paying digitally in India. The two classes of payment are not created equal though. They have differences that are quite significant. Let’s start with IMPS and go through what it is.
IMPS
IMPS uses NEFT technology to send and receive money. NEFT technology, however, requires both parties to have an Indian bank account and to be based in India. Most casinos must be based outside of India for legal reasons which make using IMPS a bit more challenging to use than UPI.
UPI
UPI is a more streamlined system, allowing you to transfer money internationally. For a UPI to function, both parties simply need an ID to serve as their Virtual Payment Address (VPA).
