Disney, MGM Mirage Form Alliance

Yesterday Disney and MGM Mirage announced their partnership, bringing some of our most beloved Disney characters to the MGM New York-New York casino in Las Vegas.

In the live announcement, we saw as many as 5 cheerleaders from the Los Angeles Lakers and the ESPN profiles Al Bernstein, Charley Steiner and Robin Roberts.

From the MGM camp, we got to see president Murren as well as a few more executives.

“The accomplishment of ESPN Zone feasting and amusement focuses is legitimately identified with the intensity of the ESPN brand”

“The cooperative energy made between the ESPN TV and radio systems, ESPN magazine, ESPN Web destinations and our ESPN Zones is a success win-win-win circumstance, for ESPN, Las Vegas, MGM Mirage, and our clients.”

Randall Baumberger, Regional Entertainment Vice-President & General Manager, Disney

MGM Mirage’s chairman Terry Lanni said: “One of the principle purposes behind our merger with Mirage was the intensity of the Mirage brands: Bellagio, Mirage and Shadow Creek, among them. What preferred brand to have over ESPN Zone here in Las Vegas?”

Disney already have ESPN Zones in six other locations (Atlanta, New York, Baltimore, Washington D.C, Anaheim and Chicago), making the Las Vegas property their seventh. The ESPN Zone in Las Vegas will incorporate two full size bars and will have a top-floor available with great overhead views of the casino floor.
