Filtering, What Is It? Lottery Prognosticator
by Robert Lyon
Filtering
is a way of taking factors you know are true a majority of the time, applying
these factors to a set of numbers you want to play, and eliminating the
games that dont conform to the rules of the filter. This reduces
the number of games you will play, thus reducing your playing cost.
For example, if you want to cover all combinations for ten numbers in
a 6/53 lottery game, (this is where you pick six numbers out of fifty-three),
you would have to play 210 games. This would strain most peoples
budget. Depending on the numbers you choose and the filters you apply,
it is possible to reduce the number of games from 210 to 8. While this
does not increase your chances of winning, it does reduce your cost to
play.
Lets look at some of the different filters you can apply to your
number choices. To help you understand a little better, Im going
to use the last 100 games drawn in the Florida 6/53 lottery as an example,
but you can apply these filters to any lottery game.
Sum Totals
In each lottery game if you add the six numbers you picked that will be
the sum total for that game. In the Florida Lottery we know that 82% of
the time the sum total of the numbers drawn is between 113 and 210. Any
game you are going to play that doesnt total between 113 and 210
you can eliminate and save on your budget.
Even/Odd
Seventy-eight percent of the time two to four even or odd numbers are
drawn. Very rarely are the numbers drawn all odd or all even. Using this
filter you can cut any games that have all odd, all even, one odd or only
one even number.
Low/High
Most games will have a fairly even mix between low and high numbers. Again
in the Florida Lottery 1 to 26 are low numbers and 27 to 53 are high numbers.
Seventy-nine percent of the games drawn have two to four low or high numbers;
look to play games that have a mixture of high and low numbers.
Repeats
Repeats are the numbers drawn in two successive games. In over half of
the games drawn there are two numbers that repeat from the last game.
Adding a couple of numbers from the last drawn game to your selection
is always a good choice.
Consecutive Numbers
If the game draws 5-6-10-14-22, the 5 and 6 are consecutive numbers. Watch
your past draws, if several games go by without any consecutive numbers
look for these to be drawn.
Matching Last Digits
In the game 5-15-25-35-45-55, notice that 5 is common in every number.
This puts the game in what I call a pattern. Many people play patterns,
but even in the unlikely event these numbers should be drawn, there would
be so many winners that the jackpot prize would be cut drastically after
it is split between all the winners.
Spacing
The numbers 5, 12 and 19 are all seven spaces apart. If you have games
that have more than three numbers spaced equally, you can filter these
games out of the games you are going to play.
Using good filtering strategies combined with a good wheeling program
can help you cover a lot of territory and stay within a reasonable budget.
Playing the lottery should always be done for fun, not because you have
to win. Play wisely and you will always be a winner.
In my next article we will talk about wheeling and its benefits to you
the player. The statistics for each state are available free on my Web
site.
