Gambling Insurance?

by Rick Beckett

Just when you think you’ve seen everything, along comes something new—but insurance to cover gambling losses? And FREE?

GamblingInsurance.com is offering to pay a minimum of 10% of applicable Net gaming losses back to you in the form of casino chips that can be used for real cash play. This is in addition to the sign-up bonuses and comps programs offered by the participating casinos!

To qualify you must register at www.gamblinginsurance.com, choose from a selection of online casinos, and download the software directly from the GamblingInsurance.com download page.

Now if you’re anything like me, then right about now you’re thinking: Sounds too good to be true. What’s the catch? How can they possibly be willing to insure me against gambling losses? How can it be free?

These are all important questions, but before I set out to answer them, I thought I’d save us all some time and find out the answer to an even more important question: Is it for real?

I tried it out and the short answer is yes! Better still, the process was painless and surprisingly quick! Sign-up took only a couple of minutes and the casino download and installation process didn’t take any longer than it usually does. I got my sign-up bonus as promised. And not some watered down bonus—I had a choice of a $50 Match Bonus or a 20% bonus on my initial deposit. I opted for the 20%, collecting $100 in bonus chips on my $500 deposit.

It took me quite some time but eventually I managed to lose. Making a claim took less than one minute but it took about a week for the chips to show up in my casino account—better late than never! All in all, I give Gambling Insurance top marks and definitely plan to stick with them. GamblingInsurance.com is a must have for every online gambler!

So how is it possible for Gambling Insurance to provide this service without charging us? We asked some of the participating casinos. It appears the answer is that, unlike land-based casinos, online casinos don’t have to spend hundreds of millions of dollars constructing their casinos. In fact, their single largest expense is marketing. Many online casinos pay referral fees to companies that bring them players (either a set amount per player or a percentage of the casino net win). GamblingInsurance.com takes these referral fees and shares the money with us.

This also explains why we still get all the sign-up bonuses and comps programs that the casinos offer to players responding to their regular ads. Our insurance claims are paid out of what would have been spent on advertising anyway. Remember this the next time you click on a casino banner and hand over your business and money for free. If you don’t, I’m sure you will the next time you lose.
