For the ultimate in fine dining the 116 seat Picasso gourmet restaurant at Bellagio, managed by Laurent Sadou, is open 6:00PM to 9:30PM, Thursdays through Tuesdays. Located lakeside, jackets are recommended for male visitors, reservations can be made by calling (702) 693-7223.
Award-winning chef Julian Serrano brings his culinary talent to Bellagio as Executive Chef of Picasso. Voted by the James Beard Foundation as "Best Chef of California 1998," Chef Serrano has earned the reputation as one of the finest culinary talents in the nation, and, for the last 12 years, has been the driving force behind the four star Masa's in San Francisco.
Although Spanish, Julian Serrano has an affinity for French cuisine. He completed most of his training in the gourmet rooms of France, and once a year finds himself there in search of new inspirations, much like the master from which his newest restaurant takes its name, Pablo Picasso. The décor of this Mediterranean-style restaurant features a collection of originals by the master, including paintings, rare tile work and a collection of hand-painted plates.
Designed by the Thomas Design Group of Las Vegas, the restaurant's rustic yet elegant charm is reflected in vaulted ceilings with exposed wood beams, terracotta tile and hanging pottery mingling with table settings of fine china and lavish floral arrangements. From the scenic lakeside patio, guests can view the spectacular fountain show that performs nightly.
Featured on Picasso's menu are some of Chef Julian Serrano's signature creations, including the sautéed filet of black bass and vegetable farci with saffron sauce, pictured here. Well known for his culinary artistry, Chef Serrano's tasting menu includes dishes such as warm lobster salad with potatoes, crispy leeks and truffle vinaigrette and ragout of autumn vegetables with fresh foie gras, as well as new inspirations.
