First WCG Event Held
The opening events for the 2002 World Casino Games were held aboard the newly launched Carnival Pride out of Port Canaveral Florida the week of February 2, 2002. The first Qualification Round, a blackjack event, was won by David Bateman of Chesapeake, Virginia. David and his wife will soon be taking their free cruise aboard Carnival to play in the Round Two, Semi-Final Round event.

Registration System Online
The free registration system for the World Casino Games is now online at www.gamblingtimes.com/wcg. All participants must register before playing. Registrants will receive updates by email as the event grows. You may also register at all participating casinos, including on Carnival Cruise Line ships.

At the same time the first events were held, a video describing the World Casino Games was made on board the Carnival Pride. This video will be available on closed circuit television aboard all Carnival Cruise Line Ships and in the rooms and casino areas of participating casinos. It will also be available online at www.gamblingtimes.com and at participating Internet casinos.

Singer to Write Strategy Book
Gaming expert Bobby Singer has announced he will be writing a book on How to Win the World Casino Games. This book will be published by Gambling Times Incorporated, and will be priced under $10 for widespread distribution. Singer, who is also an Associate Tournament Director of the World Casino Games, will be outlining the best strategy to adopt in tournament play. Singer has been one of the most successful authors in this field for more than two decades.

Geffner Hired as Tournament Coordinator
The World Casino Games is pleased to announce the hiring of Entertainment Industry executive, Steven Geffner as Tournament Coordinator for the World Casino Games. Geffner’s duties include working with all participating casinos to schedule their events to avoid conflicts, recording the results of all events, booking Round Two cruises for winners of Round One events and coordinating the details for the six finals events to be held in Las Vegas.

Sign-up System Now Online
After you have registered for the World Casino Games you will be able to access the list of scheduled events and sign-up for any event online. These lists, which are used to establish priority (first come, first served), will guarantee your place in any particular event. Participating casinos may also access these lists for their own properties to establish priorities in their events. By checking these lists regularly, you can be certain that an event will be held on time.

WCG Player’s Brochures Now Available
The Player’s Brochure for the World Casino Games is now available aboard all Carnival Cruise ships. Additional copies will soon be available at participating casinos. Players in the U.S.A. seeking a copy of this print brochure may send a self-addressed, stamped business size envelope to:

Tournament Director’s Handbook Now Available
A handbook detailing how to conduct the events of the World Casino Games is now available for all participating casinos. Casinos who are considering participating in the WCG can obtain a copy of the handbook by e-mailing Steven Geffner at sgeffner@gamblingtimes.com.
